I am a first-year Mathematics undergraduate at UCL with a strong academic record across mathematics and the sciences. I achieved eleven 9s at GCSE, an A in FSMQ (Additional Mathematics), four A* grades at A-level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry), and full marks in GCSE Portuguese.
Alongside my studies, I have always enjoyed helping others with their learning and regularly supported classmates at school when they needed extra explanation or guidance. This experience has shaped my clear, patient approach to teaching. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and committed to helping students build both understanding and confidence in their subjects.
My sessions are structured, goal-focused, and adapted to each student’s needs. Lessons begin with clear, step-by-step explanations of new concepts, with an emphasis on understanding underlying ideas rather than memorising methods. I then move on to guided and independent problem-solving using questions suited to the student’s level and aims.
Topics are broken into manageable steps, with effective problem-solving strategies modelled and difficulty increased gradually to build confidence. Where appropriate, I set targeted practice between sessions and offer guidance on revision and exam technique. Progress is monitored through regular questioning and review of completed work, in a supportive environment that encourages questions and learning from mistakes.
