Dindi Romero

Currently an A level student doing: Psychology, English Language & Philosophy, who has experience working alongside both secondary GCSE students to primary school students. I taught English language & literature and mathematics as a tutor in KUMON. Additionally, I worked as a nursery assistant & have more experience from volunteering in children's ministries at churches.

Whilst maintaining a lively, happy & fun environment I will also ensure that standards & expectations are understood by my students- outlining my disciplines & attitudes towards learning.

English Language & Literature:
- Primary education: spelling, fluency, articulation & building an understanding of the meanings of words & why they are used, to prepare the student for Secondary. Spelling games, reading short stories, comprehensive tasks will be used.
- AQA Secondary (GCSE) education: reading texts from classic literature & plays, to online articles & newspapers. Focusing on essay writing: choosing & understanding the importance of specific quotes, learning how to outline the clear messages of the author & develop/deepen their understanding of the implied meanings, connecting purposes to context & practising creative writing in a timed manner.

Mathematics:
- Primary education: focusing on mental arithmetic towards basic maths skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) through maths games & questions. Developing an understanding of more complex concepts such as fractions, geometry, trigonometry & how we use maths in our daily lives: clocks, percentages, decimals etc.
