Hey everyone! I’m DK, a current DPhil student in Economics at Oxford, with an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Imperial College London, and I’ve been teaching for a while now - everything from A-Level material to undergraduates at Oxford in PPE and Mathematics. Teaching’s been one of the best parts of my academic journey so far, and I really enjoy making subjects like maths and statistics less intimidating and a lot more engaging.
My lessons are never about just memorising formulas. I like to break concepts down into simple, intuitive steps and then build them back up so you can see the bigger picture. We usually kick off with a quick recap of the key ideas, then dive into examples that range from straightforward to exam-level challenges. I’ll push you to think for yourself, but I’ll always be there to guide you through.
I know A-Levels can feel overwhelming, especially with the pressure of exams, so I focus a lot on practical problem-solving techniques and past paper practice. We’ll work on speed, accuracy, and exam strategy, but also on really understanding the material so you’re not just “getting through it,” you’re actually confident with it.
Having taught at Oxford, I know what it takes to succeed in a rigorous academic environment. But my teaching style is relaxed, supportive, and interactive, think of it as working with a coach who wants you to do your best rather than a lecturer who talks at you. My goal is to make every session challenging, fun, and genuinely useful.
