I am interested in being able to communicate well with my tutees and have fun whilst we learn. With my tutees, in our first session I like to start with a timed exam paper, to assess our starting point. After that, we will review the topics you are studying in class and do several exam-style questions (which I will post to you). During times where you are having assessments, we will focus on times exam practice, in order to emulate the final exam. I find that a mix of theory and practice helps students consolidate their understanding whilst also learning how to apply it. I also set questions for my tutees to do during the week, thereby ensuring that their understanding of a topic is not forgotten and these questions will be reviewed by me before our lesson so any mistakes can be corrected. I like to keep parents updated of our progress after every lesson so we can chart your child’s progress together. My aim is to work together with you in order to achieve your full potential and to help you feel secure in your learning. With some of my previous tutees, we have succeeded in raising their Mock Result by 3 grades, which has allowed me to review what makes my method of teaching successful. Normally, a session is an hour long, however this is flexible and can be split into two 30 minute sessions, depending on how often we decide is beneficial for your child. I am available on weekdays after 4 and weekends.
