I approach tutoring with a strong focus on adapting lessons to the individual needs of each student. Every student learns differently, so I design personalised lessons that match their current level of understanding, learning style, and goals. Before starting with a student, I try to understand what they already know, what they find challenging, and what they want to achieve. This allows me to structure sessions in a way that is most helpful for them, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

A typical tutoring session usually begins with learning or reviewing key content. This might involve explaining new concepts, going through examples, or revisiting topics the student previously struggled with. I aim to explain ideas clearly and in a way that makes them easier to understand, often breaking down more complex topics into smaller, manageable steps. I also encourage students to ask questions during this stage so we can address any confusion straight away.

After covering the content, we move on to practice questions. I place a strong emphasis on practice because I believe it is one of the most effective ways for students to truly understand and remember what they have learned. By working through questions together, students can apply the concepts we discussed and develop confidence in using them. Practice also helps identify any remaining gaps in understanding, which we can then focus on improving.

When working through questions, I guide students through the thought process needed to solve them, rather than simply giving the answer. This helps them build problem-solving skills and learn how to approach similar questions independently in the future. Over time, I gradually encourage students to attempt more questions on their own so they become more confident and capable.

I also provide homework to reinforce what we have covered in the lesson. Homework gives students the opportunity to practise independently and helps consolidate their understanding. The tasks I assign are usually based on the material we have recently studied, so students can continue developing their skills between sessions. If students complete their homework quickly or want to challenge themselves further, they are always welcome to ask for additional questions or extra practice.

Another important part of my tutoring approach is flexibility. I can tailor lessons to a wide range of knowledge levels, from students who are just beginning to learn a topic to those who want to strengthen or refine their existing understanding. Some students may need more time focusing on the basics, while others may prefer working through more advanced or challenging questions. I adjust the pace and level of difficulty accordingly to ensure each student gets the most out of their sessions.

Overall, my tutoring style is centred around personalised learning, clear explanations, and extensive practice. By combining structured content with plenty of question-based learning and ongoing support, I aim to help students build both understanding and confidence in the subject they are studying.
