My lessons are designed to be friendly, engaging, and focused on helping students feel more confident in both English and Maths. I always aim to create a calm and positive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because that’s how real learning happens.
Each session usually begins with a quick review of the previous topic to check understanding, followed by a new concept or skill that we’ll work on together. I use a mix of written exercises, fun activities, and practice questions to make sure the lessons aren’t boring or overwhelming. Depending on what the student needs help with, we might focus on things like basic grammar, spelling, creative writing, reading comprehension, or maths skills like times tables, problem solving, or fractions.
At the end of each session the student will be given a piece of homework on the topic learnt that day or the previous day and this will continue so the student does not forget the topic and so that they become confident with it.
Since I recently finished my GCSEs, I understand the school system well and know how to explain things in a simple and clear way. I also know what younger students are expected to learn, and I can help them get ready for the next school year or catch up on anything they find difficult.
Whether lessons are online or in person, I try to make them interactive and fun, while still being structured and productive. I adjust the pace based on how the student is doing and what they feel comfortable with. My goal is always to build confidence and help them feel proud of their progress.
