While teaching or tutoring I like to use material that peaks the students' interest and encourage engagement. While working with either selected or curriculum material, I try to optimize learning potential by gamifying content, and student-centred lessons. Not only do I provide a positive learning experience, but I also incorporate new information from students, but I also take into account current research on learning styles and effective teaching methods. As someone who grew up with multiple disabilities, I have a particular interest and passion for helping students with disabilities reach their full potential.

A typical lesson will look like this: I will begin with rapport building, this will allow for an easy learning environment. I will proceed with warm-ups that provide appropriate scaffolding for the lesson to proceed. After warm-up activities are done we will proceed with the reading. The reading will be done once on their own, and once with my aid. After summarizing the reading in written form, I will ask them questions to help with language skills and critical thought. This is where they can express opinions and other thoughts they have on the material. Once reading and writing segments have finished, we will continue with an activity to boost relevant categories and idea generation. This will often also include vocabulary and grammar activities. These will all seamlessly integrate to a lesson that will help all areas of language usage for both native and second language speakers.

By taking the students' interests and language proficiencies into account, and with student centred lessons, I hope to help students from all walks of life achieve their full potential!
