I take a patient, supportive, and highly personalised approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student's individual needs, strengths, and learning style. Having recently completed my GCSEs, I have a strong understanding of the current specifications, assessment objectives, and the areas where students commonly struggle. This allows me to explain topics in a way that feels clear, relatable, and easy to follow.
I focus on building both understanding and confidence by breaking down complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I regularly use worked examples, guided practice, and questioning techniques to check understanding and encourage independent thinking. I also place strong emphasis on exam skills, such as interpreting questions correctly, using key terminology, and structuring answers effectively to gain full marks.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can be tailored depending on the student’s needs. This may include focused topic teaching, homework support, revision sessions, or full exam preparation using past paper questions. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are important parts of learning.
My lessons are suitable for primary school students as well as GCSE students studying Maths, Spanish, or Science. In Science, I can support all three core subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping students understand key scientific ideas, processes, and practical applications. I also support students with revision strategies and exam technique, including applying knowledge to unfamiliar contexts and improving written answers.
As a recent GCSE student, I can offer up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and a relatable perspective, which helps students feel more understood and supported. My goal is to make lessons engaging, structured, and effective so that students build confidence, improve steadily, and achieve their target grades or higher.
