I am an experienced, patient and enthusiastic teacher and have been tutoring for twenty years. I try to build a student's confidence so that instead of saying 'I can't do this', their attitude is: This looks pretty hard, but I'm going to have a go anyway.
I am happy to give homework as this helps to consolidate work that we have done together in a lesson; it also lets me see how much has been understood by subsequently going through their answers.
I have tutored people from eight years old through to adults wanting to change/improve career prospects although it is often students preparing for GCSE exams. As mentioned, I have also been a marker for the Edexcel exam board for twenty years understanding common misconceptions in students' exam answers.
