In working 1-to-1, I try to adapt my style of teaching to the student's ability. For example, some students respond well to games and quizzes where others might find them patronising or a waste of time. Very importantly, I try to avoid talking for too long and try to establish a dialogue with the student so that they feel part of the session and thus are more likely to feel that they own the learning process and share, with me, a sense of responsibility for its success.

Because it's important that a student has a very good understanding of a topic, I have lots of patience and try to review topics before moving to the next one.
