Many years of working with primary and lower secondary pupils helping with both English and maths. I enjoy seeing pupils who can grasp the material for the first time , feel confident and go on to succeed. If it is also enjoyable so much the better!
Many pupils need one to one support because they have missed aspects of the subject and are feeling a sense of failure. I work hard to both fill gaps in understanding and allow pupils to feel a satisfaction in understanding. Most pupils I teach have missed out or feel left behind. This often means they are depressed as they see low test scores and friends overtaking them. Teaching one to one allows this to be overcome and success to blossom.
