My lessons will be calm, relaxed and patient yet efficient. Due to my high grades in English I understand the importance that loving a subject has on understanding the content and therefore I aspire to help the next generation feel more confident learning one of the core subjects. I plan on spending the first few minutes on each session asking the student if there is anything at school they are currently unsure about and I would then adapt the lesson to help them feel confident in that particular area. We would spend however long it takes for the student to understand before moving on to my lesson plan. Based on their year group this may range from grammar and punctuation, spelling, creative writing and interpreting different texts. Being a student myself I fully acknowledge the importance a teacher has on a student's learning experience and therefore I will do everything I can to ensure that they have a positive low-stakes environment where learning is made to be as enjoyable as possible. I understand that it is not easy to reach out for help on a subject that may seem hard however reaching out is the most difficult stage of improving and it is after this where change can occur and improvements can be made- no matter how small. I, myself, have tutoring in the sciences because if find those subjects to be difficult however each day I practice my confidence grows and I am determined to help others feel the same.
