I am a qualified primary teacher with a mainstream background across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with significant experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and those who have experienced disruption to their education. I have worked extensively in inclusive settings, providing both whole-class teaching and targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions in English and Maths. My work has focused on closing attainment gaps, preparing pupils for statutory assessments and supporting children to successfully re-engage with learning following absence or emotional difficulty.
My lesson style is structured, calm and relational. I prioritise building trust and psychological safety, recognising that progress begins with connection. I use clear routines, explicit modelling and scaffolded instruction to build confidence step by step. Learning is broken into manageable chunks, with regular opportunities for retrieval and success to strengthen understanding.
I incorporate positive behaviour strategies and self-regulation techniques within sessions, helping pupils recognise and manage their emotions so they are ready to learn. Lessons are personalised, strengths-based and responsive to individual needs, whether preparing for exams or rebuilding core literacy and numeracy skills. I maintain high expectations while adapting pace to ensure pupils feel supported and appropriately challenged. Above all, my teaching combines academic rigour with warmth, consistency and encouragement.
