My lessons are structured, supportive and tailored to the individual learner. I begin by getting a clear understanding of each student’s current level, confidence and goals, whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, completing coursework, or rebuilding subject knowledge after a difficult period at school.
Lessons are carefully planned but flexible. I break content down into manageable steps, explain ideas clearly, and use guided practice to make sure understanding is secure before moving on. Where appropriate, I use exam-style questions, model answers and worked examples so students understand not just what to do, but how to do it effectively under exam conditions. I also place a strong focus on subject-specific skills such as essay structure, analysis, evaluation, and revision strategies.
I am a fully qualified secondary teacher with over 13 years of experience teaching English, Media, Drama and Esports across KS3, GCSE, A-Level and vocational pathways. Alongside tutoring, I currently work in senior leadership within a school, so I have up-to-date knowledge of specifications, assessment objectives and how schools assess progress.
My teaching style is calm, patient and encouraging. I aim to build confidence as well as academic skill, helping students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. Lessons are paced to suit the learner, and I regularly review progress so sessions remain focused and purposeful.
Whether a student needs short-term exam support or longer-term confidence building, my goal is always the same: clear progress, improved understanding, and greater confidence in their ability.
