I'm a First Class Fine Art graduate based in Widnes. I've worked with nervous beginners, shy students and adults who think they can't draw. Those are my favourite people to teach, because watching someone come out of their shell and start expressing their own ideas is genuinely special. It changes how they carry themselves outside of art too.
My lessons start with you. We talk about what you enjoy and what inspires you, then build your own inspiration board together. Found images, your own photos, whatever feels right. From there we bring it to life using mono printing, which is a brilliant way to create detailed work by hand. It's perfect if holding a pen feels tricky, or if you just want to build confidence on the page first. Then we can take it anywhere. A striking black and white piece about shading and texture. A pop of colour with paints, learning mixing and colour theory. Maybe clay, maybe drawing. Whatever direction suits you.
I'm patient and calm. I go with the flow, but I'll introduce art history and ideas along the way so you're always growing. My own practice is all about texture on a page, visual chaos and finding shapes in clouds. I love problem solving, and I think finishing is just part of the process. When something feels right, it's perfect. The journey's done. If you go further it might get too muddy.
What I love most is helping someone develop their spark without losing it. Whether you're aiming for a grade, building a portfolio, or just want more confidence, I'd be glad to help.
