My primary method of teaching is 'Scaffolding' whereby I show a student how to complete questions on a topic they find difficult, and gradually decrease my input until they are comfortable completing these questions themselves.

Here's an example of how it works
For Maths, Students will highlight to me which areas they are struggling with or do not understand.
First, I'll select one of these topics and have them try some questions from this topic on their own.
Next, I'll show them me completing the questions and talk them through it. Here I give them a chance to try understand it themselves, and ask any questions.
Then, I'll explain to them how and why I did what I did, and the different methods for completing these questions, in order to give them a full in depth understanding of this question type.

After this, I'll give students the opportunity to try the questions again, this time with my help. I'll point them in the right direction and answer any questions, whilst gradually decreasing the help I give them as we work through the questions.
Here, the student gains the ability to complete the question themselves, and they've now gained a deeper, more indepth understanding of that topic area.
I will repeat this and continue to work through different topics until the time allotted is up.

However, I am also open to different styles of teaching if the student struggles with this particular one. I have much experience from Maths GCSE, Further Maths GCSE, Maths A Level and Further Maths A Level at teaching other students and explaining basic concepts to my classmates, so feel comfortable in a teaching role.
