Depending upon the specific course and exam board that your student is undertaking I can lead lessons focusing on what the student is not understanding about that subject area. This might be through reading and revising together, writing practice essays, flashcards, making mind maps, creating presentations and talking through topics together, consequently making them more interesting. My experience teaching has been to other course mates who were struggling and wanted to know my own successful techniques. I have tutored younger family members through their history, English and politics lessons, and understand how to make those subjects interesting to all, even if they may seem scary, boring or pointless to some students! It is important to establish a positive and fun relationship with the student- that is the only way good grades come through! This is why having a university- level student is beneficial to younger students- having someone understanding on their level.
