My lessons are structured but flexible, designed around each student’s level, goals, and interests. I typically begin with a short discussion to understand what you want to achieve—whether that’s improving technical skills, developing your own style, preparing a portfolio, or understanding contemporary art more deeply.

Sessions are a mix of practical work and guided discussion. On the practical side, I’ll walk you through techniques such as composition, colour use, lighting, and painting methods (especially acrylic and figurative work), often demonstrating step-by-step and then supporting you as you apply it yourself. Alongside this, we explore contemporary art concepts, looking at artists, movements, and how meaning is constructed in modern work to strengthen your analytical skills.

Lessons are interactive and feedback-driven—you’ll receive clear, constructive guidance throughout, with a focus on building confidence and helping you think independently as an artist. I also support with portfolio development, project ideas, and critique sessions, which are particularly useful for students in school or preparing for further study.

Overall, the aim is to create a space where you can develop both your technical ability and your creative voice, while gaining a deeper understanding of contemporary art.
