Having completed all Kumon Maths and English levels (and then been a Kumon tutor for 4 years), been tutored in 11+, and participated in STEM-related masterclasses and webinars, I understand that some methods just don't work for everyone, no matter how hard you seem to work. That's ok. Take this from a 9 Grade 9s student.
For all my classes, we would have a flexible learning style, especially if you have preferences. If not, not to worry! We would understand your strengths together first, as well as your weaknesses, and go on from there. Any tricky homework questions...we can go through them too!
As well covering the content via the curriculum, for the students who are looking to get to grips with their base, I would have sets of knowledge retrieval questions we could go through together (strong emphasis reminding you that these are not tests!), and for those looking to push themselves beyond the textbooks, we can attempt UKMT and Science Olympiad questions together.
I hope you will find the environment relaxed, but at the same time stimulating. At the end of all this, I hope studying won't be an alien concept, and you can leave school not only with a strong set of grades, but the soft skills that will let help you learn independently and effectively in the future! :)
