Corin Astles

I’m Corin Astles, a Bristol-based animator, illustrator, and graphic designer with experience across animation studios, NHS communications, and community organisations.

I give professional 1-1 Animation Tutoring aimed at (but not limited to!) 12-16 year olds, teaching the fundamentals of 2D animation, including animation, drawing and storytelling skills. Delivered both online and face-to-face in Bristol

Lessons are typically 2 hours along and delivered every two weeks, with optional tasks given in-between.
These lessons build your skills in art, animation, software, storytelling, planning and focus. I have a six week 'Intro to 2D Animation' course that teaches the main fundamentals, before going on to explore more advanced topics.

I tailor lesson to the individual needs of each student, making sure that I learn their strengths, weaknesses and interests to help them reach their full potential. Flexible arrangements are available to best suit your schedule and needs.

My credits include award-winning films and BBC TV programs, where I’ve honed my ability to deliver high quality animations that blend technical skill with creative storytelling. Skilled in 2D and CG character animation, real-time rendering, and project management, I bring both artistic vision and production discipline to every project. My work blends narrative depth with visual clarity, shaped by my passion for mythology, fantasy, and global cultures.

In addition to animation, I also have extensive experience in tutoring, youth work, academic support and community volunteering.

Outside of work, I enjoy climbing, reading, anthropology, and tabletop gaming.
