My lessons are engaging, conversational and tailored to each student's interests, learning style and goals. Whether you're studying for school or university, or simply exploring art history out of personal curiosity, I adapt each lesson to suit your needs.
I enjoy introducing new topics through short, structured mini-lectures that provide a clear foundation before opening the conversation to questions, discussion and visual analysis. Rather than treating artists and movements as isolated facts, I focus on helping students understand the wider story. We explore what was happening historically, politically, socially and philosophically, how artistic movements emerged in response to one another, and why particular works of art continue to matter today. I find that when students understand these connections, they retain information more easily and develop a deeper appreciation of the subject.
Drawing on my background in art history, fashion history, textiles, philosophy and fashion design, I also enjoy making connections across different forms of visual culture. My aim is to make art history accessible, memorable and inspiring by grounding it in the lives, ideas and cultures that shaped it. I want students to leave each lesson not only with new knowledge, but with a greater curiosity about the history of art and the stories it tells.
Depending on the topic, we might compare artworks side by side, trace how ideas evolved across different movements, or explore how artists influenced one another. I also enjoy using images throughout the lesson, as looking closely at artworks together often leads to richer discussion and a deeper understanding than learning through text alone.
