I started teaching English in 2003 until 2012. I then took a break from teaching to work in the EU institutions, and later as a diplomat for my government, based in Brussels, negotiating on behalf of Malta in the Council of the European Union. From 2016 to 2020, I managed my own company teaching Ambassadors, EU officials, national and EU politicians, as well as C-level executives. We focused on English for Diplomatic & Political Purposes, and I also helped them with drafting speeches, as well as with their Public Speaking and presentation skills. I had a number of clients who asked for my help specifically with pronunciation, which is an area I specialise in. After a few years working in other sectors, including the financial markets and the entertainment industry, I've realised that I really miss teaching, as it's something that gives me immense personal satisfaction to see my students develop and improve.
I usually structure my lessons as follows:
1) Discovery - an introduction of the topic
2) Focus - focus on new language/grammar/skills
3) Activate - the part of the lesson where you actively use the target language
I am flexible and am happy to work on the areas you need in particular. Let's have a chat to see how I can help you!
