My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and adapted to each student’s needs. I teach online in a one-to-one format, and sessions can be tailored for topic revision, exam preparation, assignment support, or strengthening core understanding in areas students find difficult. I focus on helping students understand biological concepts properly, then apply them confidently to questions and assessments.
A typical lesson begins with a short check-in to identify what the student already understands and where they are struggling. I then explain the topic step by step, using straightforward language and a logical approach. Depending on the topic, I use diagrams, examples, and guided questions to make abstract concepts easier to follow. I also include exam-style practice where relevant, so students can improve both understanding and technique. Lessons are interactive, and I encourage questions throughout to keep the pace appropriate and supportive.
My academic background includes PhD-level training in biology-related fields, with specialist knowledge in genetics, genomics, reproductive biology, and molecular biology. I also have experience in teaching, lecturing, and mentoring students in academic and laboratory settings, which helps me support learners across different levels and learning styles.
My aim is to make biology more manageable and less overwhelming, while helping students build confidence, improve accuracy, and develop a stronger independent approach to studying. I work in a patient and professional way, with lessons tailored to each student’s goals and progress.
