My lessons are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I believe that learning is most effective when pupils are actively involved, so I encourage discussion, questioning, and hands-on activities rather than just listening and taking notes. This helps students feel confident to share their ideas and really understand the material, rather than just memorising it.

A key part of my teaching style is providing clear, detailed explanations. I take time to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, using examples and practical exercises so that students can see how skills are applied. Whether it’s grammar, reading comprehension, or writing techniques, I make sure pupils know not just the “what” but also the “why” behind each topic.

My background in teaching drama also plays an important role in how I approach English tuition. Drama encourages creativity, critical thinking, and confidence—all skills that transfer directly into exam preparation. I use techniques from drama to help pupils explore different perspectives, think imaginatively about texts, and develop strong communication skills. These approaches make lessons lively, memorable, and different from traditional tuition, which keeps pupils engaged and motivated.

Overall, my lessons are a blend of structure and creativity: clear guidance, interactive tasks, and imaginative techniques that bring English to life. My goal is to help students not only feel prepared for their SATs, but also enjoy the process of learning and gain lasting skills for the future.
