A supportive and committed teacher/tutor who encourages active dialogue about, and engagement with, the subject material to encourage students to consider the texts in greater depth; such an approach aids in the development of the student's exam skills including, but not limited to: analysis, inference, comprehension, deduction, and retrieval.

My approach centres around: providing model responses, contextualising the subject for students to help give them a holistic understanding of the subject, and discussion based activities alongside the completion of exam materials to support in the development of the transferrable skills needed to successfully access both the Literature and Language exam papers. The goal of my tutoring is not simply to teach the student to get through a test, but to guide them in the development of skills that enable them to become independent, autonomous learners who can confidently approach the subject using the foundational knowledge learnt in our session together.

I have a strong passion for both my subject and education, a mindset and approach which encourages those students who I support to more actively engage with their current and future studies through an environment that fosters a shared appreciation of the learning process itself.
