Lesson always begin with a "brain warm up". Usually a short game or activity. All instruction is geared toward blending the student's interest and their area of need. "Brain Breaks" are given periodically providing the child time to rest their mind. I integrate games that we play together and hands on experiences. I believe in providing the students with incentives such as stickers . I allow them to save them up to buy things. They earn these stickers based on their behavior throughout the tutoring session. I was a teacher for 20 years in the public school system in Georgia. I retired and went on to begin tutoring. I spent five years doing that, and still have a few clients. I have worked with children of all abilities. This includes both gifted and those struggling academically.
