I have been a University lecture for over 9 years and have come to understand that the level of understanding a student has in a subject depends on quality introduction by the tutor.
This is why during my years in the academic sector, i have greatly improved my standard of teaching to yield optimum level of understanding for the students.
In my lessons , we will have a brief introduction with examples related to the topic which the student is free to contribute to the example . As we proceed to the core of the subject, i will provide an scenario where the subject appears in our everyday life. This will give the student a realistic view for the need of the subject
From my experience , i have realized that when students are given the opportunity to make contributions in a subject, it makes the class a communicative one which in turn boosts the confidence and gives a deeper understanding to the student
