I have been an educator for the past 10 years with a Masters in Teaching grades 1-6. As much as I love being in the classroom, I feel like virtual teaching is much more my passion. My lessons start off with a quick check-in to see how everyone is doing. I feel that it is important to create a safe space and build relationships so that students feel comfortable and are able to learn effectively. I then teach a mini lesson followed by an activity that is interactive such as Nearpod, Desmos, IXL, Jamboard and other online platforms. I always like to have an exit ticket for the last 5 minutes of class so I know where they are with understanding the material. I then use that to plan my lessons. Some of the programs that I have been trianed in are Columbia - Teachers College curriculum of Reading and Writing, Fountas and Pinell, Common core math and ELA, Khan Academy, Go Math, Readworks, Prodigy English, and IXL math program. I alsways like to learn new platforms and learn about how I can improve my teaching. Having experience in both classroom teaching and remote learning gives me an advantage since I am aware of the issues that arises and how to handle them, especially with technology. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn about your company and have the chance to interview and take the next steps. I feel that I would be a good fit for this company in many ways.
