Chris Spratt

I am available for Maths tutoring up to GCSE in-person in Surrey or online for those based elsewhere. I make sessions interesting with props to aid understanding and memory so that foundation principles are secure and students have the tools to succeed when tackling more complex problems.

I also help students manage their topic priority lists and ensure they have input when identifying challenging areas of a syllabus to focus on.

I worked as an Actuary and Chartered Insurer in the insurance industry for many years so I understand the opportunities to apply mathematical skills in the workplace. I enjoy helping students to gain the confidence in mathematics for academic and career success and also to embed numerical fluency for everyday use.

I have been a mentor to a Teach First graduate teacher and I volunteer with Action Tutoring.

I also work with children and young adults through my coaching qualification with Badminton England, where I have an enhanced DBS status.

I am married with two children at University and A-Level so I have personal experience of the challenges facing students as they navigate the demands from studying multiple subjects and also engaging in extra-curricular activities
