Chris Koningen

I have spent over 20 years as a designer, project manager and team leader, working on highway projects of all shapes and sizes. Often complimented on my ability to teach in a dynamic and ‘real world’ manner, I tailor my approach to focus on what someone needs to know to be successful in their job, based on my own experience (and mistakes!) working in the industry.

Having always worked for consultants or public bodies, I am now independently taking on design projects for clients across the UK. This enables me to keep my skills current, learning what the current opportunities and challenges face the industry, and how I can assist in making the most of these for the betterment of both the client and the travelling public.

I believe in open, honest, practical dialogue, and am passionate about not only encouraging new people into the industry, but given them the tools and guidance they need to be successful. I was personally given that opportunity by a previous employer who was willing to take a chance on me, and am dedicated to paying that forward.

I am able to offer design, 2D AutoCAD and CDM 2015 training to delegates of all levels, from differing backgrounds and abilities. I truly believe that highways is an incredible industry to work in, and hope to inspire others to feel the same.
