I would get to know the student first in terms of what they know, what they don’t know and how they learn best. I would create and deliver lessons based on these things. The online lessons will include teaching the content using presentations and visual content which can be really helpful, I will ask them questions to test their knowledge on what I’ve taught so I can track progress and ensure they’re learning and if they’re not answering the questions correctly, then I can change how I teach to help them. For high school students, it’s also important to practice exam style questions to prepare for GCSEs and other assessments- this includes not only the content they need to know but also how to answer the question (structure etc.). I’ve taught PE lessons previously in a primary school and am very enthusiastic which helps to motivate children. Furthermore, I communicate effectively with the students to ensure I create a good relationship with them whilst maintaining a professional boundary. I am also adaptive to each and every individuals needs and abilities, as I know that everyone learns differently so if I can adapt how I teach, then I know that this can be effective for students. From this experience, I am confident that I will be able to create and deliver effective lessons online to suit the needs of each student and help them to better understand what they’re learning about in school, and also to help them achieve good grades in their exams.
