I have worked with a broad range of learners of all ages and levels while completing my CELTA and PCET qualifications and have continued working in ESL ever since. I have more than five years of ESOL teaching experience including over one year of tutoring and teaching small groups online. I have also taught A0 - B2 ESOL learners.
I worked with young people during my first PCET placement, teens and other young learners during Oxford International’s summer programme for three weeks during 2018. In college I gained knowledge on GCSE English Language exams and what skills are required to achieve a C grade.
In my lessons I use a mixture of live and delayed error correction techniques (the choice is yours.) I have undergone additional training in order to create more effective and engaging grammar lessons as well as how to use technology to aide learning tool in the classroom.
I like to tailor lesson topics to the learner's personal experience and interests. I feel that this approach always works best as the student is much more likely to remember information that is most relevant to them and builds a rapport with me as their educator.
I received high scores from my senior teacher during each of my observations and outstanding positive feedback in both annual student surveys at previous teaching positions.
There is no such thing as a 'stupid question' so please don't ever hesitate to ask me anything in one of my lessons...
I am willing to teach online or face-to-face (provided the area is local to me!)
