Chinwendu Doris Wofuru

My name is Wofuru Chinwendu Doris, I am a first class(4.52/5.00) graduate in Rivers State University, Nigeria, from the department of Medical Laboratory Science. It is with great anticipation that I apply for the position of an Online Tutor.
It is my goal to combine my range of experience, with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your institution.
My teaching, creative, instructional and leadership experience has been solely on voluntary activities.
During my undergraduate study, I volunteered as an undergraduate teaching assistant where I aided in grading papers, building lesson notes and sometimes take up tutorials for students who found it difficult to understand a particular course(Biology, Chemistry). I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach a diverse group of students, and as a result, I have developed highly effective teaching techniques and instructional methods, which have allowed me to educate all styles of learners, and foster a fun, engaging and a positive learning environment. After my undergraduate study, I continued this role but this time as a graduate teaching assistant. I was involved in the curriculum planning and development, as well as day-to-day staff and student management. One of my greatest strength as an educator is meeting each student's unique needs by developing a personal understanding of each one of them. I am able to achieve this by seeing and assessing my students as individuals and tailoring lesson plans to accommodate multiple intelligences. Furthermore, I ensure that all my students are able to grasp learning concepts and enhance their personal skills by providing learning centers, hands-on manipulative and fun activities. I utilize these strategies to introduce new concepts, establish a connection between the classroom and everyday life, and to foster and engaging learning atmosphere.
I strongly believe in cultivating and sustaining strong working relationships with members of the school community. To maintain this, I create and send out weekly newsletters to keep parents up-to-date on school/class events, and welcome parent-teacher conferences. I also work in partnership with fellow teachers to develop new activities, implement beneficial resources, and refine teaching techniques. Furthermore, I
establish a good rapport with my students and I let them feel that I love teaching and being with them.
