My teaching methods are person-centred, so they will vary from student to student. In class, it's very easy to be overlooked, so one-on-one sessions are a good opportunity to discover the best way of learning. I usually begin by identifying which topics you find most challenging, then break them down into clear, manageable steps with plenty of examples. We’ll work through practice questions together, gradually building up your confidence before you try problems on your own.
I adapt my format depending on your goals. If there is a specific exam to prepare for, lessons can be adjusted to reflect that. Alternatively, if you want to strengthen core skills and solidify knowledge from previous lessons, we can accommodate that. Finally, if you would like to read ahead of the syllabus, I'd be happy to tailor lessons to that. Whether it's exam preparation or improving day-to-day confidence with maths, I encourage students to ask questions at any point, and I’ll always explain things in different ways until they click.
With a supportive and patient approach, I aim to make learning less intimidating and more enjoyable, while ensuring steady progress in each lesson.
