Charlotte Thacker

I am a highly qualified, passionate, hardworking Psychology teacher. I am adept at delivering a range of subjects to a high level, working with different curriculums and exam boards. I have marked both exam and vocational work and have previously been a lead assessor for my subject. I am practised in delivering successful active lessons where the classroom is a safe space to share opinions and ideas. Learners are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the lesson such as answering questions, giving presentations or taking part in a whole class activity. I facilitate building confidence in this, by making sure all learners are heard and respect is at the core. I use a range of techniques to ensure engagement in lessons is high and students are active in their learning. In my lessons students will learn through student and teacher led activities, multimedia, questioning, research tasks, games and quizzes (to name a few). I have a secure and detailed understanding of the principles of curriculum design, as I established Psychology as a subject within schools and have been a subject lead for Psychology. Therefore planning lessons based on objectives is a key strength of mine. I pride myself on my skill as a good communicator and my ability to build strong relationships. I am an extremely organised, conscientious and dedicated person. I am looking forward to working with students who want to learn about Psychology as much as I love to teach it.
