My lessons are tailored to the AQA exam board for A-Level Government and Politics and the students personalised goals, whether that be improving essay structure, building political knowledge or general confidence working up to the exam. I teach the subject in a clear, discussion based way to help the student understand both the key content and how to apply it in an exam based structure to deliver the best results. My lessons typically combine exam techniques aiming for top mark answers, clear explanations of core topics with relevant and up to date examples key for high grades and discussion and debate to encourage analytical thinking. I cover areas such as UK Government and Politics, US Government and Comparative Politics, and Political Ideologies (including but not limited to- Socialism, Liberalism, Nationalism, Conservatism). I can easily adapt lessons based on what the students need, it’s a completely personalised experience. Whether they want me to decide what to work on or whether they have a clear goal in mind i can provide both a supportive and focused approach either way. The format i use is whatever is best for the student, and could be on platforms such as Zoom, Teams etc. Overall, my aim is to create a conversational and comfortable environment where students feel free to interact and engage freely without any pressure of making mistakes and build the confidence to improve step by step. As i not only want my students to achieve better results, but also to enjoy learning politics more.
