I have extensive experience as peer-assisted learning tutor during my final year of university. During this time I used a range of learning techniques to accommodate a variety of learning styles. I wish to incorporate these techniques into my tutoring sessions, where I aim to make them as enjoyable and interactive as possible. This could be through games, active recall, quizzes and flash cards, among many other techniques. I am adaptable and approachable and I love tailoring my teaching to meet the needs of the student. As I graduated from university in July 2023 with a first class degree in mathematics and economics, I am a recent student and this helps me to relate to current students’ needs and concerns. Learning techniques that I used in my own recent studies are very fresh to me and I hope for this to make me not only a very helpful tutor of material but also a great advisor for revision techniques and practices, which is very important for independent study outside of school and tutoring sessions. I have experience as an academic mentor where I worked with students with special learning requirements such as dyslexia and anxiety. Due to this experience I am an empathetic and patient tutor which has made me an even better professional in this type of learning environment. I look forward to putting all my mathematical knowledge as well as my extensive tutoring and learning assistance experience into practise with my students. I would be happy to offer a complimentary 30 minute session to discuss your needs and requirements to make sure that I am the best tutor for you!

My son was entering yr 6 and getting ready for his SATs when we started online lesson's with Charlie weekly/ fortnightly. Lessons were flexible to fit in with other family commitments and afterschool clubs. We were told by his teacher he had fallen behind in maths and would 'always be at a working towards level.' My son lost his confidence completly and struggled to ask for help in class. Charlie broke down SATS revision workbooks and went through each topic in great detail, practising until my son understood it. 1:1 online lessons gave him the time and ability to ask for help when he needed, in a space place. And guess what... My sons top SATS results were for .. maths! He is now reached the top end of expected for his age and his end of year report was fantastic. We are all over the moon with his progress and most importantly he saw what he could achieve with alittle hard work. He began enjoying maths and is ready to start secondary with a new found confidence.
