To start each session, I will do a catch up/reminder of the previous session to check that the student has fully understood the topic which will allow them to be able to learn further topics. I will then spend a majority of the time teaching a specific topic (prepared prior to the session), involving regular checks that everything is making sense. Once the topic has been taught and understood, the session will end with questions on the topic, to once again check that the student has fully taken in the theory and can produce the required work to show this. Depending on the results of this, we will either revisit the topic further or introduce the next topic. Finally, I will set either a bit of reading or some more questions to be done before the next session, which I will then go over to see what needs to be done next, as explained at the beginning.
For my experience, at school I have helped younger students at my school ranging in the ages of 11-16 with their maths which have produced good results in exams. I am keen to do further teaching and hopefully tutoring can help me do so.
