Charles Alegbe

I am a patient, experienced and supportive UK-based tutor specialising in Mathematics for primary, secondary, GCSE and Functional Skills learners.

I currently provide personalised tuition through Tutor Doctor, supporting learners with Mathematics, English, Biology and Geography. My approach is particularly focused on helping students who lack confidence or find certain topics difficult to understand.

In Mathematics, I support learners with topics including number, fractions, decimals, percentages, BODMAS, factors and multiples, HCF and LCM, indices, standard form, algebra, equations, inequalities, simultaneous equations, factorising, quadratics, graphs and problem solving.

I do not simply give students answers. I break difficult topics into manageable steps, explain the reason behind each stage, use worked examples and then allow the student to practise independently. I regularly check understanding and revisit areas where a learner is struggling.

I have experience supporting GCSE and Functional Skills learners as well as younger students. I also have previous experience as a Special Needs Teacher, which has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs, abilities and levels of confidence.

My qualifications include an MSc in Geographic Information Systems, BSc (Hons) Geography and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology. I also hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

My aim is to help each learner become more confident, independent and successful in their studies.

I offer both online and in-person tuition, depending on the student's location and requirements.

A first lesson can be used as an initial assessment and introduction so that I can understand the learner's current level, identify areas requiring attention and develop an appropriate learning plan.
