Charlaine Hau

I grew up in Hong Kong, can speak fluent Cantonese, English and Mandarin as it is mandatory to study English and Mandarin at schools and Cantonese is the native language. I went to university in UK, studying Japanese studies. I went year abroad to Japan and successfully passed my Japanese language proficiency test N2 level, which is equivalent to B1 level. I graduated university with Class Two Division One Honours in Japanese studies.

During my studies in the university with local students, I also realised the struggle of learning Chinese characters and Kanji, as it's a more complicated language to write and read for locals. Comparing to other tutors, I believe my advantage can help you learn writing words more effectively and precisely.

I aim at helping students learn useful sentences during travel and daily conversations. I will start by getting you to familiarise with grammars and sentence structures, and encourage you to use what you have learnt flexibly, instead of rote learning. My tutoring style and curriculum differs to meet everyone's needs so I am more than happy to do give-it-a-go sessions to give both of us a chance to see if my tutoring fits your expectations or I can provide useful lessons to you.

I am passionate in teaching people languages, at the same time, I am a patient person that I can help you go through struggles when you find learning a certain language difficult. I will try my best to help everyone reach their goals in language learning.
