My two passions are Art and Maths. That's why I'm tutoring in these 2 subjects. Below there is a little about me, in separate sections for Art and Maths students.
For Art students:
I have over 16 years experience as an artist in the Film & Animation industry and have been in the art world for 25. My strengths lie in analysing form, colour & light, anatomy, drawing, painting and composition. If you'd like to see my work and what I can offer, I can share during our first free session. I'm very enthusiastic and passionate about my craft and art in general.
Whether you're doing your GCSE, A-level, Art Foundation or building your portfolio, I'd listen to what things you like, types of art you already draw inspiration from and what skills you want to develop. I'll help you find ways to achieve that on your work, with inspirational Pinterest boards and anything I think will help you enrich your work. If you feel stuck or overwhelmed I can help you detangle your thoughts and make a realistic action plan that will get you to your goal.
We'll find what works for you and see how we can use references to practise, incorporate in your preparatory work and help design your final pieces. I will help you with digital paint overs on your drawing/paintings with suggestions on how you could approach, enhance & develop your drawings and paintings. I'll share ways that help me analyse images/references/artist works, how thumbnails can help brainstorming, focus and creating you vision for your final pieces.
I'm hoping we can have some fun exploring colour and light and be proud of the art you create and even broadening your visual spectrum!
For Maths students:
I've always loved maths, and when I had to choose at 18, my love for animation won my over. I went on a journey focusing on that. However, my passion for maths never quieten, so In the last few years, I've been doing a BSc in Mathematics with Open University while working full time in the animation and film industry.
I volunteered with Action tutoring helping Year 10 and 11 students that fell really behind. I wanted to do everything I can to encourage students not to give up on maths.
I always want to have an approach suitable for the individual. If you're already good and you'd like to build speed and precision to ace that exam, we can definitely focus on that. I believe people learn in different ways and problem solving is a life skill. if you're struggling and maths really isn't your subject of choice, I encourage a visual approach to problem solving. Different people learn in different ways. I'm very open to exploring the individual needs, speed and maths problems exposure. That way we can have a realistic plan, a strategy to make you shine and gain confidence with maths.
