Cerys Mcgroarty

I am a hardworking university student who loves to teach and pass on knowledge from my experiences in secondary school. I have experience studying for both practical and written exams and believe I can help with showing different study techniques, providing feedback on work and working to the SQA standard of national 4/5 and Highers.

I am a student at the University of Abertay Dundee, studying fitness, nutrition and health in 3rd year. I am president of the university netball club and currently coach netball at High school of Dundee. I was a young leader in girlguiding and have plenty of experience working with young people, from coaching and umpiring netball. I have experience teaching as over this summer I worked at a summer camp in the USA and taught many age groups of children cooking with some elements of food science. I love to pass on knowledge and teaching is always something I have been passionate about. I have a younger sister and when she was going through her exams I always helped her and passed on any tips I had learnt from my experience.

I have previously completed my Scottish National 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers. I achieved up to higher maths and English along with French, business and physics all at A standard and achieved advanced higher Health and food technology. I am comfortable teaching different study techniques to cater to different styles of learning and identifying preferred styles would be key to my tutoring. I am comfortable with SQA marking and would be able to offer advice on the best way to cater to this.
