Cerys Marks

I would describe my lessons as friendly, encouraging, and highly personalised. Having achieved an A* (8) in GCSE Maths* and an A in AS Level Maths, I understand both the content and the exam techniques that make the difference between knowing the material and actually scoring well. I want my students to benefit not only from clear explanations of mathematical concepts, but also from strategies and tips that help them apply their knowledge confidently under exam conditions.
In my sessions, I focus on breaking down topics into manageable steps so that students never feel overwhelmed. I know that maths can sometimes seem intimidating, so I aim to create a supportive atmosphere where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process. I encourage plenty of practice, questions, and interactive problem-solving to make sure that every lesson is engaging as well as effective.
My lessons are aimed at students from primary school through GCSE level, whether you are looking to strengthen the basics, prepare for upcoming exams, or boost overall confidence in maths. I am equally comfortable supporting students who feel they are struggling as I am stretching those who want to aim for the very top grades.
Ultimately, my goal is to help each student see maths in a new light — not just as a subject they “have to” learn, but as a skill they can master with the right guidance. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, so you’ll always feel supported and challenged at the right level.
