Hello, my name is Cathy. I have just completed my undergraduate degree reading BA History at the University of Oxford.

I tutor English GCSE, English as a Foreign Language, and History (both at GCSE & A-Level). I tutor students of all ages, from very young to adults.

I am a firm believer that learning most any language is often easiest (and most enjoyable) when done in a conversational and leisurely setting. My teaching methods will tend towards making lessons carefree (not necessarily textbook- unless specially requested for exams etc).

I also take a similar approach in my teaching of English GCSE and History (GCSE & A-Level). My aim is to make lessons fun and enjoyable, and individually tailored to each student's needs and preferences. I also allow the student to lead with highlighting any specific areas they personally would like to focus on, all whilst keeping lessons fluid and educational.

My goal as your tutor is to support you in not only excelling in the subject, but also in truly enjoying it. I would like to help students foster a real vivacity for learning and using the knowledge acquired as you go forth in the world and in your studies.
