Cassandra Walcott

I am currently a primary school teacher with eight years of experience helping children succeed across the curriculum. I believe learning should be fun, interactive and tailored to each child, combining retrieval practice and problem-solving with real-world examples and interests. In English, I help students build confidence in reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing, using techniques that strengthen understanding and encourage independent thinking. I also have experience in Phonics, which can provide support building fluency in reading. In Maths, I focus on developing core skills through practical, hands-on activities and adaptive teaching, helping children see the relevance of numbers in everyday life. Lessons are designed to be engaging and supportive, with an emphasis on progress rather than perfection. There are no wrong answers, only opportunities to learn and improve. I encourage students to ask questions, take risks and develop confidence in their abilities. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where children feel motivated and empowered to achieve their potential in both English and Maths. I understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to suit individual needs and learning styles. I aim to build strong foundations and lasting understanding. The lessons are fun, interactive and designed to help students grow in confidence while developing essential skills. I believe learning should be enjoyable, and that mistakes are simply stepping stones towards success. My aim is to support children in reaching their potential, celebrating progress and fostering a love of learning that will benefit them throughout their education. Lessons focus on growth and learning is for everyone.
