Carmen Kleykens

Hola, hello!
My name is Carmen and I want to be your help in the amazing path of becoming a cellist! A music lover with a lot of energy who really likes to teach and learn. I have been playing cello for more than 20 years and have been teaching for more than 10 years now. Here is a bit more about my profile:

I studied my bachelor's in cello in Barcelona, having really good grades and loving every second of it.At the moment, I am doing a PhD in composition at the HfMT and studied cello in both Germany and France, where I completed my master's degree. I play cello regularly in Hamburg, London, and Berlin, both at the HfMT and outside, at venues such as the Hafenbahn, Jazzhall, and Elbphilarmoni, although my main activity now is teaching cello at the Ohmoor Gymnasium in Niendorf. I also compose for theatre and shows, so I am always up to date with the music scene.

I teach regularly at two cello schools and give lessons to children and adults of all levels. We play classical, pop, and jazz music together, and I teach technique and theory to make it easier. As I am currently studying at university, I also recommend concerts and music to listen to. I can prepare students for school exams, and I can also teach adults. I have a clear and entertaining methodology that promotes concentration and understanding of music.
