About me

I design my GCSE Maths lessons to be clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs, with an emphasis on creative reimagining of an approach to mathematical problem solving.

Every session begins with a short recap of previous topics to reinforce understanding, followed by a focused exploration of new material. I use a mix of worked examples, guided practice, and problem-solving exercises...

I use a mix of worked examples, guided practice, and problem-solving exercises to ensure students not only learn the methods but also understand the reasoning behind them.

My approach is interactive and creative: I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions, and test different strategies. This builds confidence and helps them develop the analytical skills needed for exam success. I also integrate real-world applications of maths wherever possible, showing how concepts like algebra, probability, and statistics connect to areas such as computing, video games, art, and economics.

Lessons are structured but flexible. If a student struggles with a particular topic, we slow down and break it into manageable steps. If they are excelling, we push further with extension problems to stretch their ability. I provide regular feedback and exam-style practice so students feel prepared and resilient under timed conditions.

My background includes a first-class degree in Politics and International Relations from Cambridge Univeristy, an A* in GCSE Mathematics, an A in GCSE Further Mathematics, and an A at A-level Mathematics. I have worked in advanced analytical work in government and consulting, alongside ongoing training in Python and data science. This means I bring both academic rigour and practical insight to my teaching. Students benefit not only from clear explanations of GCSE content but also from seeing how maths opens doors to wider opportunities in technology, business, and beyond.
