Cara Chase Chase

In my lessons we will be doing close reading of the texts you have been studying, formatting an exam answer and focusing on contextual analysis to bulk up your literature knowledge. I will start by getting you to complete a practise exam booklet in front of me so I am able to understand your thought process, note taking on possible lessons for the future. This will be followed by a discussion between us so that we both have a mutual understanding of your strengths and weaknesses within the subject. This will plan out the following weeks of learning where I will cover in depth what I believe will form your perfect exam answer to English literature questions.

I would like to understand how you learn and process what the question is asking you to do, so I can shape the lessons to your unique understanding. This could be through creative aspects, testing your language ability or your understanding of the wider novel/ text. I know that everyone learns differently, therefore my lessons are focused on listening and finding the perfect ground for uninspired English students, so that they can flourish in a subject I feel passionate about teaching.

I believe that context is a very important part to learning English. It can improve on memory, links to wider reading and improvement in language terms. Nothing but good can come from reading another book, inspired by one you have already enjoyed, broadening your knowledge of that specific subject matter and introducing you to a whole range of authors.
