My teaching style is student-centred, analytical, and adaptive, designed to foster confidence, resilience, and critical thinking across both GCSE English Literature and Maths. In English, I guide students to engage deeply with texts, interpreting language, form, and structure while encouraging independent thought and intellectual curiosity. I emphasise endurance in reading and analysis, supporting students in tackling complex passages, understanding subtle meanings, and building resilience under timed conditions. I use structured approaches to essay planning, model exemplar responses, and iterative feedback to help students internalise assessment objectives and refine their writing.
In Maths, I adopt a systematic, step-by-step approach that balances conceptual understanding with practical problem-solving. I focus on breaking down complex problems into manageable parts, encouraging students to articulate their reasoning clearly, and apply logical thinking consistently. I incorporate frequent practice, worked examples, and targeted feedback to help learners consolidate skills, gain confidence, and persist with challenging concepts.
Across both subjects, I foster a collaborative and supportive classroom environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and justify their reasoning, whether through textual evidence in English or logical explanation in Maths.
