I am an English student at the University of St Andrews hoping to help and inspire those who struggle academically. I have experience helping younger children with their reading and literacy skills, including neurodivergent children who require extra support and teaching techniques. I can specialise in English, or support your child more generally with study skills, handling academic stress or balancing their subjects. I offer personalised, engaging lessons designed to help each student improve their confidence and academic performance. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs, whether that means focusing on grammar, essay writing skills, reading comprehension or revision. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their abilities at their own pace.
I structure my lessons with a clear balance between learning, practice, as well as feedback. My sessions usually begin with reviewing previous work, identifying strengths as well as areas for improvement, and then setting achievable goals for the lesson. I introduce new concepts in a simple and engaging way before guiding students through interactive activities and exercises to reinforce their learning. At the end of each session, I provide constructive feedback and practical tips to help students continue building skills independently.
Students should choose me because I am kind, engaging and genuinely passionate about helping them succeed in school. I understand the stress and upset that struggling in school can bring, and I want to aid each student to feel more confident in themselves. By building lessons around their own interests, I make learning enjoyable, effective, and motivating for every student.
